Ingredients
Fructo-Oligosaccharides (FOS)
Fructo-Oligosaccharides (FOS) are oligosaccharides that occur naturally in plants such as onion, chicory, garlic, asparagus, among many others. FOS travels intact through the small intestine to the large intestine, where they support the growth of healthy bacteria in the digestive tract. FOS have important beneficial physiological effects such as improved mineral absorption, a prebiotic effect, and decreased levels of serum cholesterol (1)
Inulin
Inulin is a prebiotic fibre that can help you achieve optimal gut health. Our gut bacteria uses it for fuel. Inulin has been linked to healthy metabolism, weight loss and lowering blood sugar (2).
Chlorophyll
Chlorophyll is a green pigment food in plants that play a crucial role in photosynthesis. These cells are high in natural magnesium, a mineral known to help in many healthy functions of cognition, hormone regulation and digestion. Research has shown that chlorophyll has many other positive effects in cancer, oxidative stress and is an anti-obesogenic (3).
Spirulina
Spirulina is type of algae that grows in fresh or salt water. It is one of the most nutrient-dense and nutrient-diverse foods on the planet. Its nutrient spectrum spans from amino-acids, micronutrients, antioxidants, fatty acids to various phytonutrients. The main active compound in spirulina, phycocyanin has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties (4). Studies indicate that spirulina can lower triglycerides and improve cholesterol levels, which may support heart health (5).
Gotu Kola (Pegaga)
Gotu Kola has been used for many years as part of traditional Chinese, Indonesian and Ayurvedic medicine. It is also known to contain vitamins B and C, and phytonutrients such as flavonoids and polyphenol. Studies have shown that Gotu Kola is effective in improving memory domain (6).
Pomegranate
Pomegranate contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory substances. Increasing evidence show that pomegranate could be used to improve gut microbiota, and therefore prevent obesity and diabetes (7). Pomegranate Extract can help improve muscle strength recovery after exercise.
Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that is best known to help relieve stress (8). Ashwagandha has been used for many years as part of natural Ayurvedic medicine. Studies have shown that Ashwagandha significantly improved sleep quality and mental alertness upon waking (9).
Other Ingredients
Acerola Cherry
Acerola Cherry is most well-known for being extremely rich in vitamin C. Because of this, it’s often used to help with or prevent colds or flu. It’s also used as an antioxidant nutrient. Together with vitamin C, acerola may be taken to boost immunity.
Alfalfa
Alfalfa is rich in vitamin C, which is a potent antioxidant that helps to protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. Alfalfa is also a rich source of vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin K2 and B-vitamins. Studies have shown that Alfalfa helps with liver function (10).
Apple
Apple is a great source of antioxidants & is packed full of vitamins & minerals. Apple contains high concentrations of vitamin C, polyphenols, beta-carotene & flavonoids.
Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that is best known to help relieve stress (8). Ashwagandha has been used for many years as part of natural Ayurvedic medicine. Studies have shown that Ashwagandha significantly improved sleep quality and mental alertness upon waking (9).
Barley
Barley is high in fiber, especially beta-glucan, which may reduce cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Barley contains copper, vitamin B1, chromium, phosphorus, magnesium and niacin.
Beetroot
Beetroot contains micronutrients and phytonutrients that may benefit heart, gut and brain health. Beets have been linked to a huge range of benefits, notably cardiovascular health and support blood sugar levels already within normal range.
Bilberry
Bilberry contains a variety of potent compounds, including tannins and anthocyanins, which may help with oxidative stress and gut microbiota modulation. Bilberry extract also appears effective in lowering cholesterol (11).
Broccoli
Broccoli has multiple vitamins, minerals, and most importantly, it’s made of several sulphur-containing phytonutrients that support the liver, microbiome and digestion.
Carrot
Carrot’s bright orange colour is from their beta-carotene content, an antioxidant and vitamin A precursor, as well as multiple other carotenoids.
Cherry
Cherry is packed with vitamin C, A and K, as well as potassium, magnesium and calcium. Cherry is rich in polyphenol antioxidants, including anthocyanins, flavonols, and catechins, which may help keep your heart healthy by protecting against cellular damage and reducing inflammation.
Dandelion
Dandelion Extract is a highly nutritious plant loaded with vitamins, minerals and fibre. Chicoric and chlorogenic acid are two bioactive compounds in dandelion that may help to decrease blood sugar levels.
Digestive Enzymes
Digestive enzymes play a key role in breaking down the food that you eat. The proteins in digestive enzymes speed up chemical reactions that turn nutrients into substances that your digestive tract can absorb.
Grape Seed Extract
Grape Seed Extract acts as a defender, supporting delicate blood vessels, capillaries, repairing skin cells, and supporting brain health. Grape Seed Extract has a high antioxidant content coming from oligomeric proanthocyanidins.
Green Tea
Green Tea is a powerful antioxidant. Green tea leaves contain ‘non-oxidised phenolic compounds’, which help neutralise the effects of free radicals.
Inulin
Inulin is a prebiotic fibre that can help you achieve optimal gut health. Our gut bacteria uses it for fuel. Inulin has been linked to healthy metabolism, weight loss and lowering blood sugar (2).
Licorice
Licorice has been used in traditional Chinese, Middle Eastern, and Greek medicine to soothe an upset stomach, reduce inflammation, and treat upper respiratory problems.
Maca
Maca is a Peruvian plant that may have various health benefits, such as boosting libido, increasing energy, improving mood, and it may also help manage blood pressure. Maca is a cruciferous vegetable, meaning that it is related to broccoli cabbage and kale.
Milk Thistle
Milk Thistle has a long history of documented use as a medicinal herb that may play a complementary therapeutic role in managing liver disease because of its potent antioxidative properties.
Papaya
Papaya contains an enzyme called ‘papain’, which can help you to properly break down and digest the protein in the foods you eat.
Pea Protein
Pea protein is a complete protein, suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Pea protein powder contains all nine essential amino acids including arginine, lysine, and phenylalanine.
Pineapple Juice Powder
Sourced from the pineapple fruit, this natural flavour is what makes My Daily Greens taste so good. The high amount of vitamin C in each and every pineapple helps to boost natural collagen production, resulting in better skin.
Pomegranate
Pomegranate contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory substances. Increasing evidence show that pomegranate could be used to improve gut microbiota, and therefore prevent obesity and diabetes (7). Pomegranate Extract can help improve muscle strength recovery after exercise.
Spinach
